When a student clicks “Start Free Trial,” a $0 WooCommerce order is created. The student goes through the standard checkout, which captures their account and creates a real order record. The trial product is auto-generated — you don’t need to create any WooCommerce products manually.

No. The plugin enforces one trial per student per course (or bundle). Once a student has used their trial — whether it expired, was cancelled, or was converted to a purchase — they cannot start another one. This is tracked in a dedicated database table.

An hourly cron job checks for expired trials. When a trial ends, the student’s enrollment is automatically cancelled, revoking their access. They receive an email with the course name and a direct purchase link. If they already purchased during the trial, nothing changes — their paid enrollment is preserved.

Yes. You can enable a free trial on any Tutor LMS course bundle. Students get temporary access to all courses in the bundle. When the trial expires, all bundle course enrollments are revoked together. If a student has trialed any individual course in a bundle, they can’t trial the bundle (and vice versa) — preventing double trials.

Absolutely. During an active trial, a purchase option is displayed alongside the trial notice. If the student buys the course (or the bundle), their trial record is automatically converted to a paid enrollment. No conflicts, no duplicate access — the transition is seamless.

Yes. If the Installments plugin is active, students see installment payment options alongside the regular purchase button during their trial. They can choose to convert their trial by paying in full or starting an installment plan.

Yes. Trial settings are per-course and per-bundle. You can set 3 days for a short course, 14 days for a comprehensive one, and no trial at all for others. Each course or bundle has its own toggle and duration setting in the course editor or via the floating panel in the Tutor course builder.
